Early Literacy Station
 
      A new "Early Literacy Station^TM" has been added to our collection. The  Friends of the Library generously provided this "all-in-one" learning computer for young children.
 
      The ELS computer is loaded with more than 45 educational software titles for children age's 2-10. This child safe learning computer is not connected to the internet. All software for the computer is age appropriate and relevant to children's learning. The large "touch screen" monitor, along with a colorful keyboard, and child size mouse make this the perfect fit for children.
 
      The computer has 7 educational software areas: reading, math, science, social studies, writing, arts, music, and reference. titles such as: "Millies Math House," "Just Grandma and Me," "Sponge Bob Square Pants Typing," Encyclopedia Britannica-Kids, "Peter Rabbit Phonics" plus many more exciting, top-rated titles. These programs will encourage children to experience the computer on a variety of topics and to become comfortable exploring the computer through games and educational programs. Parents will feel comfortable knowing the software is completely safe and age appropriate.
 
      The children of the Upper Perkiomen Valley along with their parents are in for an exceptional learning experience with the acquisition of this computer. Much gratitude to the Friends of the UPVL for providing such a wonderful educational tool.
