The Rainbow Discovery Room is designed for children and parents to explore, discover, and experience the world of science, math, and reading together.

In the room you can work together experimenting and collaborating on creative activities designed to spark curiosity and foster exploration.

In addition to our permanent hands-on collection, different science concepts will be featured each season that will include fun and exciting experiments.

Link (the skink), Sasha (the tortoise), Mr. Wiggles (the frog), and our fish all have homes in the Discovery Room (and sometimes upstairs). Two chinchillas, Ruby and Paige, stay with us for the summer.

The Rainbow Discovery room is made possible by generous grants from Univest Bank and Target.

The Discovery Room currently features many hands-on exhibits dealing with earth science.  Here, a colorful pattern of sand is created using a pendulum from our force and motion exhibit.

A young patron uses a microscope to examine a set of bee wings in detail.
